Well done everybody! Sunday 20th May 2018 marked our 27th event with a new record of over 1,300 runners crossing the finishing line at Hartletts Park. It was a beautiful day for running with the sunshine bringing out many spectators to create a great atmosphere!
Firstly, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our two new sponsors for 2017, Cala Homes for sponsoring the The Cala Homes Hook 10 Mile Road Race and Square One for sponsoring the The Square One Hook Fun Run. We’re looking forward to you being part of our event for many years to come.
We would also like to thank William Grant & Sons, sponsoring our event for the 7th year and this year, the headline sponsors of our 10k race, The William Grant & Sons Hook 10K. Thank you for your assistance again this year and well done to your running teams.
The Mary Dearlove Trophy for the oldest competitor was again awarded to Walter Thorpe, representing Basingstoke & Mid Hants AC, with a great time of 1 hour 20 minutes and 21 seconds in the William Grant & Sons Hook 10K Road Race. Well done Walter!
The Bob Ashwood Award, given in memory of our founding chairman, was awarded to Marion & Gordon Sharp in recognition of the 20+ years service they have given to our event. Thanks to you both and we look forward to seeing you with us over the next 20 years too!
