The Square One Fun Run is the most popular race of the day. The atmosphere and energy is amazing and we love seeing the well-earned celebrations as people cross the finish line.

We love a Fun Run! You don’t have to run fast to be part of this special race. The Fun Run is suitable for all children over 5 years old and open to people of all abilities and fitness levels. We also welcome entries from people with buggies and encourage people to take part in fancy dress.
Our Entertainment team will get you warmed up and motivated at the start and you will feel great crossing the finish line with hundreds of other runners knowing you are part of helping to raise money for local organisations at the same time as achieving your goal.
Course Information
2 mile (approx) Fun Run
Terrain: Mixed Terrain (road and grass)
Minimum Age: 5 Years (all children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult)
Starting waves: 10:15am (orange bibs) and 10:18am (grey bibs)
Buggies / strollers: Runners must start at the back of the entire group, i.e at the back of wave 2.

The course
The Square One Fun Run starts on the field at Hartlett’s Park.
After leaving the cheering crowds behind at the start in Hartletts Park, the fun run route takes a left up to the garages before turning back on itself for a tour of Hook via Oak Tree Drive and Birch Grove to Wellworth Park and onto Hazel Coppice.
A left to Alderwood Drive, followed by a left turn at Reading Road leads runners back towards the A30. Runners turn left at the A30, through the centre of Hook to the finishing tunnel and the atmospheric Hartletts Park.
There will be one water station on the course as shown on the map below.

Warm Up / Cool Down
The group warm up begins 15 minutes before the event starts. Remember to cool down and stretch when you finish.

Further Information
- All children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a parent who needs to enter and run with them.
- There will be two starting waves, separated by two different coloured running bibs and split according to estimated finishing time.
- The cut off finishing time for wave 1 is 20 minutes.
- To ensure you run together with your family members, please ensure you input the same estimated finishing time as the slowest member of your family when you enter. To ensure you run together, please try and enter at the same time.
- Running numbers must be clearly displayed on the front.
- The personal information form on the back of the running number MUST be completed.
- Entries with buggies MUST stay at the back of the entire group and will be last to cross the start line.
