When will I receive my race pack?

If you selected postage when you entered, your race pack will be sent out in early May 2026

My race pack has not arrived, where and when can I collect it?

If your race pack has not arrived before race day, please visit Hook Community Centre at the following times to collect:

Thursday 14th May 17:00 – 19:30

Saturday 16th May 17:00 – 19:30

Sunday 17th May 08:00 – 9:30 (please go to the Numbers Collection Desk)

Can I collect a race pack for my friend?

Yes, you are able to collect a race pack for friends and family. You will need their full name, distance and post code.

I have lost my race number, what should I do?

Please don’t worry; come to the Numbers Collection desk on Sunday 17th May and we will issue you another number.

Entries and Refunds FAQs

When do entries close?

Online entries close at midday on Thursday 14th May 2026.

How do I know if my online entry worked?

You will receive a confirmation email from FR Systems (entry hub) confirming your entry; this can take up to 24 hours to arrive and may go in to your spam folder. If you do not receive this email. Please contact team@hookfunrun.com

How do I update my personal details?

You can amend your entry online via FR Systems (www.entryhub.co.uk) using the password you were sent in the email receipt, when you entered the race. It is your responsibility to make sure your details are correct and up to date.

What is the minimum age for entry?

The following age restrictions apply:

Fun Run – 5 years and over on race day

10k – 15 years and over on race day

10 mile – 17 years and over on race day

Any under 8 year olds must be accompanied by a paying adult in the Fun Run.

Do I qualify for UKA Affiliated entry?

To qualify for UKA Affiliated entry, your running club must be recognised via the UKA Governing Body.

I cannot take part anymore, can I get a refund?

Once your race entry is accepted, we are unable to make refunds.

Can I transfer my entry to another runner?

Numbers can be transferred to a substitute runner online by the person who made the original booking up until midnight on Thursday 14th May 2026. This is done via your account with FR Systems (https://www.entryhub.co.uk) using the password given on your original entry acceptance email.  It is essential that you supply all the details for the new runner that you previously supplied for your own entry.

Is it possible to switch from one distance to another?

You can switch distances by contacting team@hookfunrun.com, no later than midnight on Thursday 14th May 2026.

Can I get a refund on the day?

No refunds can be made on the day.

Can I transfer my number to another runner on the day?

Yes, numbers can be transferred on the day by coming to the Entries Desk in the Community Centre.

Can I defer my entry to next year?

We do not have a deferral system for future races.

Course FAQs

Which roads are closed?

Please visit our Road Closures page for more information about how these may affect you. A link will be provided as soon as details with road management have been confirmed.

Is there a time limit?
All competitors in the 10 mile distance must be able to complete the course in less than 2 hours (12 minute mile pace).
Are there water stations on the course?

There are water stations on the courses as follows:

Fun Run – 1 water station

10k – 3 water stations

10 mile – 4 water stations

Can I run with my pushchair?

Pushchairs / strollers are allowed in the Fun Run but must start at the very back of the entire group. This means starting at the back of wave 2. Runners with pushchairs / strollers should be the very last people to cross the start line in the Fun Run.

Can I run with my dog?
For reasons of safety, no dogs or other pets are allowed to participate or accompany runners, except for registered guide dogs.
Can I use a bicycle?
For reasons of safety, no bicycles, roller skates, skateboards, scooters, stilts, etc are allowed.
Can I run in fancy dress?
Yes, we encourage you to!  Fancy dress helps to make the race really fun for spectators, families and runners alike.  
Can I wear headphones?

In-ear or over ear headphones must not be worn whilst running and doing so may lead to disqualification. This is for your safety so that you can hear instructions and is a condition of our UKA insurance (UKA Rule 240 S5). Under UKA rules, you are allowed to wear bone-conducting headphones.

Any runner seen using any other form of headphones will be disqualified. Please respect our rules.

Are there marshals around the course?

The Hook Fun Run & Road Races is known for our loyal, enthusiastic and encouraging marshals.  We could not run the event without the continuous support from the local community and voluntary organisations that help us marshal the event every year.

Where can I park?

Parking is available at Hook Railway Station car park, however, there is a fee to pay.
Alternatively you could also park at William Grant & Sons Ltd. at Form 1, Bartley Wood Business Park, Bartley Way, Hook, RG27 9XA

Please note: The Community Centre car park will not be available for parking and Ravenscroft is closed to non-residents.

Where is the Toddlers race?

The Toddlers race is on the main field in Hartlett’s Park. Look out for the Toddler Race sign.

What time does the Toddlers race start?

The Toddlers race starts at 09:30. Head over to the field to enter your child and pay. Please bring cash.

Will there be anywhere to store my bag during the race?
Please go to the Baggage Hall in the Community Centre to store your bag. This is free of charge.
Is there a pre-race warm up?
A group warm up led by an instructor will begin approximately 15 minutes before the event starts.
What time does the Fun Run start?

Wave 1 of the the Fun Run starts at 10:15.

Wave 2 of the Fun Run starts at 10:18.

The fun run is approximately 2miles (this has not been officially measured).

 

Which Fun Run wave am I in?

The Fun Run waves are colour coded.

Orange running numbers – Wave 1

Grey running numbers – Wave 2

Will I be in the same starting wave as my child?

There will be two starting waves, separated by two different coloured running bibs and split according to estimated finishing time.

To ensure you run together with your family members, please ensure you input the same estimated finishing time as the slowest member of your family when you enter. To ensure you run together, please try and enter at the same time.

When will the results be posted?
We aim to have results available for viewing as soon as possible. There will be QR codes available around the park to scan and view results. The results will also be posted on the homepage of our website within 48 hours.
I do not want my photos to be published, who do I contact?

What medical cover is provided?
Comprehensive medical cover is provided by St John Ambulance.
